Vegas Rocks Magazine was started five years ago, after being upset no other magazines focused on the artists and legends of rock and roll that I loved from the 80's like Montley Crue. It is actually a funny story of how I started this media sensation as a single mother working as a limousine driver here in Las Vegas. I was a jilted bride with no previous experience in magazine publishing but I had intense and undying, lifelong passion for rock n’ roll when I took off to the Van’s Warped tour in July of 2004 with a camera and a tape recorder that I learned how to use that day. On the day I was to pick up the first issues on August 1, 2004, I was $600 short to give to the printer. A passenger got into the limousine and said he wanted to go to Pahrump.
We took off to Sherries Ranch (a Brothel) and at the end of the day I was handed an envelope containing $600 for my transportation services for my clients – - and the rest is history.I was a singer/songwriter in rock bands for over 20 years including ten crazy years in Hollywood in the 80's where some shows included wild theatrics including me being taken out in a straight jacket at the Whisky A Go Go and FM Station. I also took a stab at being a Movie Star where I landed several roles in television and movies during my Hollywood days. I started taking candid shots backstage of celebrities in the late 70’s when I was 14 years old (Aerosmith, KISS, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple), and the madness continues on in Vegas Rocks Magazine in 2009!
At the time in 2004 when I started this publication, there were no other rock magazines in Las Vegas. Five + years later we are standing strong as the only local independent rock magazine to report and cover the latest on everything that happens in rock and roll in Sin City. I will do anything to get a story or picture. I have stalked and pursued the best and the mightiest and I always get my man or woman as the case may be! I drive Vegas Rocks! Magazine every month as we continue to go beyond the boring reviews and the latest flavor of the month and go (or sneak) behind the scenes to bring the best, most unique entertainment to our readers every month the who’s who, who’s when and who’s where of rock and roll in Sin City.
